Check out the trailer for The High Note, the feel-good film of the year, premiering on demand/Amazon Prime Cinema worldwide on May 29th 2020. I had a blast scoring this one, from director Nisha Ganatra, and starring Tracee Ellis Ross, Dakota Johnson, Ice Cube and Bill Pullman.
HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA AWARDS
I was so thrilled to have scores nominated in two categories this year at the HMMAs, forJurassic World: Battle At Big Rockand Marooned. The ceremony took place in November in Hollywood and I was delighted to take home the award for Best Score for an Animated Short for Marooned! Yay!
VARIETY'S MUSIC FOR SCREENS SUMMIT
This past October, I joined some of my heroes for the Composer Roundtable at Variety's Music for Screens Summit, sponsored by ASCAP. Jon Burlingame moderated a great chat about the current state of the industry with composers Alan Silvestri (Avengers: End Game), Christophe Beck (Frozen), Nicholas Brittell (Succession), Michael Abels (Us), Siddharta Khosla (This Is Us), and little ol' me.
BATTLE AT BIG ROCK
The latest installment in the Jurassic franchise is here in the form of a brilliant short film, Battle At Big Rock. Scoring this was nothing short of a dream come true, and working with director Colin Trevorrow was inspiring and incredible. We recorded the score at Abbey Road last May, and it dropped, to the surprise of fans worldwide, on September 15th.
The reviews are in, and with a solid 100% on RT, UNDONE is not to be missed. I'm thrilled to have scored this incredibly beautiful series from the creators of BoJack Horseman, starring Rosa Salazar and Bob Odenkirk. Watch it on Amazon Prime! The soundtrack is also available on all major platforms.
SAN DIEGO COMIC CON
This past July I was at Comic Con for the 'Behind The Music' panel, discussing the score for UNDONE and other composerly things. Amazon also previewed the first two episodes of the series to a packed audience of Comic-Con heads. What a fun day!
